Mix it Monday: Going Green

Green is the colour representative of new life; from budding leaves to fresh grass, green is a sign of life and new beginnings. Despite the change of seasons, we are still surrounded by so much growth- my lime trees are heavy with fruit and there are a few latecomers to appear on the passionfruit vines. From the lush ferns that blanket our gardens and bush, to the stunning greenstone iconic to New Zealand, I can’t imagine a colour more appropriate for this week’s Mix it Monday!

After finding inspiration in the current trend of wedding bouquets featuring foliage (endless shades of green, interesting textures, and unique shapes galore!), I created this gorgeous jade colour using equal parts Florence and Olive. Olive gives the shade its earthy depth, while the brighter tones of Florence produce the ultimate pop! What a perfect way to use up a few test pots on a cold winter day to bring new life to old furniture. We recommend being as creative with your mixing as possible, and know you will discover a range of shades sure to suit your mood!

Shop Chalk Paints™ by Annie Sloan online now, or stop by Taylored Revival this week to pick up some Florence and Olive for your own mix it Monday recipe! While you’re at it, browse our stunning new selection of everlasting florals to bring that extra dose of greenery into your home! Just remember- green is a versatile colour, so we recommend incorporating it into any room of the house. See images below for inspiration this winter.
