With the cooler months coming, we are starting our mix it Monday’s again here at TR and this week we are sharing a beautiful soft sage green recipe created using Duck Egg Blue and Antibes green. One of the many beauties of Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan is that the colours mix beautifully together with the colour coming out clean, crisp and clear, why? because Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan is not a white paint that has been tinted, each tin contains rich colour pigments all the way through, allowing you to do things like paint upholstery, dye fabrics and of course mix colours to create an endless array of colours, shades and hues. Once our customers have a few tins of Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan we encourage them to starting mixing and exploring… we also have a paint bar in store where we are constantly mixing colours with our customers to create the perfect colours for their projects. So if you are looking to match or tone in with a fabric sample or tile, bring it in with you for expert advise.. and yes the floral and shells in the image below has been painted with Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan
How to mix? We liken it baking, on a sheet of baking paper, determine the ratios using one of the best tools you will always have on you… your fingers. One finger tip of x colour + one finger tip of x colour, mix it together and watch the magic happen. If the colour suits, it’s 1 to 1 . By determining the ratio’s first you can then re-create this colour as you need in a larger portion using a measuring cup/jug, eg: 1 cup duck egg blue to 1 cup antibes green. A good thing to mix into is a jar or container that you can place a lid on and keep it air tight.
Soft Sage Green Mix: for this one we have mixed 2 parts Duck Egg Blue to 1 part Antibes green to create this beautiful colour shown in the image . For added inspiration on how to use this colour we have compiled the images below for you which you can create using various portions of Duck Egg and Antibes Green.
