And its a wrap from us here at TR

Here we are, we have reached our last day for the year. The last commissioned project has just been picked up, the furniture gallery is looking pretty bare…we are taking a moment to sit and reflect on what has been an absolute whirlwind of a  year…

We know that there are many of you have followed us from the start, back when Taylored Revival was run from the garage of our home and the thought of owning a shop was still just a dream. There are also our customers & commissioned clients who strongly supported us when we first opened our doors in Whitford in 2014, who have also been able to watch and be apart of our incredible journey this last year. February 2015 saw our first container of Antiques and Vintage furniture from the UK arrive, where our commissioned clients were given first and exclusive access to the stock, over the year we have hand painted these gems and re-homed so many to take pride front and center in their new homes.   March this year saw us  welcome Karenza who joined the TR team and become apart of the TR family. It was also the month where we officially launched as a stockist for Annie Sloan and her amazing paint; we had been enjoying it ourselves but now we could train and help people enjoy creativity as well.  October this year saw us take on a bigger premise. This move was combined with a slight rebrand and renewed focus upon “Bespoke furniture and creative interiors” all taking place at what is now our new home, Howick Village. In the last year we have completed approximately 175 revival projects being a mix of commissioned projects and for our own shop stocks. Around 212 individual pieces have been hand painted by us this year ranging from chairs, walls, kitchens, bedroom suites and we have had 198 people attend our paint workshops. We have really been blown away with the response, we’ve had people travel from all over the country to attend, some as far as Taranaki, Whakatane, Waikato, Bay of Plenty.. Amazing! On top of that we have enjoyed the comments, feedback and encouragement on both facebook and instagram (and in person), it has all very much been overwhelming, inspiring and humbling for us.

We have a unique position, although we have a retail store, Taylored Revival is far from just retail, we have the privilege of helping people transform their spaces with the best paint in the world. Everyday we get to do and be involved with something we love. We know our customers well, we see photos of their interiors, we talk colour and finishes all day long and we absolutely love it. With our commissioned clients we have the privilege of entering many  beautiful homes, gaining creative trust and transforming spaces with our concepts and decorative painting, we get to know families  very well and often their friends.  Taylored Revival is a business that has grown through word of mouth, we don’t have a huge marketing budget, we don’t have a PR agent, but we are a team of 3 people who love what we do and want to share it.

There is so much more we want to do with Taylored Revival, and 2016 will see us focus more around creative interiors, we have some really exciting new and unique homeware concepts lined up, we look  to welcome new Annie Sloan products including wall paint  and a beautiful linens range when that is released to NZ. We will also have a focus on specialised decorative painting workshops now that we have settled into our new space as well as making more of our collections available online for our customers who live afar, including mouldings and homeware. We have a busy year ahead of us! For now we look to take a well deserved break, recharge and be ready for another creative year in 2016. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all  for your support and in taking part in our journey in the last year, we thank you for your loyalty, words of encouragement, and positive feedback. We wish you a safe and happy festive season with family and friends and we look forward to greeting you  in store in the new year!

With thanks
Dorophya, Darrell & Karenza 🙂
